Tendring CAMRA Committee

Tendring CAMRA’s branch constitution includes (as at April 2026):

The Branch Committee shall undertake the general conduct of the affairs of the Branch. It shall include the following officers:

  1. Branch Chair,
  2. Secretary,
  3. Treasurer,
  4. Membership Secretary,
  5. Pub Data Co-ordinator,
  6. Good Beer Guide Submissions Co-ordinator,
  7. Pub Protection Officer,
  8. Pub Promotions and Awards Co-ordinator,

and any discretionary important or desirable roles as listed on the CAMRA website and agreed by the Branch, subject to such other guidelines for
membership of the Committee as may be laid down by the NE or at a General Meeting of CAMRA. Roles may be shared, except for the roles of Chair and Treasurer, at the discretion of the Branch. Committee members shall be elected at, and hold office from the end of one AGM to the next when they may be eligible for re-election. Any member of CAMRA who is a member of the Branch may serve on the Committee.

Treasurer – John

John has been working at Branch beer festivals since 2018. 

At the beginning of 2024 the Branch was scraping the bottom of the barrel to find a replacement Treasurer and John enthusiastically volunteered. At the ensuing AGM, in the absence of any competition, he was unanimously elected to the post.

Ed joined CAMRA at the 2007 Clacton-on-Sea Real Ale & Cider Festival, and helped at the 2008 one. In April 2009 he was asked to start a Yahoo Group for the branch, and was co-opted to the committee later that year as ‘Pubs Officer’ (to update the spreadsheet of pubs within the branch area).
